Steve DeMars is a finance and debt placement expert for Berkadia Denver Mortgage Banking. He is experienced across all commercial real estate asset types with a specialization in multifamily housing. Since joining Berkadia in 2019, Steve has successfully facilitated over $1.4 billion in commercial real estate debt transactions, spanning 50+ assets and 7,000+ housing units throughout the United States. Steve leverages his extensive relationships throughout Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life insurance companies, debt funds, banks, and commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) groups to secure the best financing partnerships to address individualized ownership strategies.
Steve began his career within the healthcare technology industry working for Medtronic and Johnson & Johnson. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado and holds an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University. In his spare time, Steve enjoys coaching youth mountain biking, skiing, and traveling.
