Johnny King is a Director in Berkadia’s Houston office and is primarily focused on originating debt and equity for commercial real estate investors and developers throughout the United States. He has developed extensive capital markets knowledge and experience in his career, having been involved in more than 130 closed transactions including loan originations, equity raises, acquisitions, and dispositions, both as an intermediary and as a principal. Closed asset types have included multifamily, office, industrial, retail, manufactured housing, RV parks, land, marinas, and private water utility systems across 25 different states.
Prior to joining Berkadia in 2017, Mr. King spent four years with BlackSwan Investment Partners, a Houston-based, private investment partnership focused on opportunistic real estate and private equity investments in the Houston MSA. Prior to BlackSwan, he was a participant in Marcus & Millichap’s Sales Intern Program in the Fort Worth office where he worked directly for one of the company’s top retail investment sales associates.
Mr. King is a licensed real estate sales agent in the State of Texas, a 10-year committeeman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and a founding member of Jimmy Pappas Memorial Shoot (JPMS), a registered 501(c)(3) organization benefiting various charitable initiatives. Since 2014, JPMS has donated more than $620,000 to organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Halo House Foundation, Sunshine Kids, and CanCare.
