Describe your role at Berkadia.

I work on the Internal Communications team as an Employee Communications Manager. In my role, I help to support our Production network, the People team, and other groups in keeping a well-informed Berkadia. We offer strategic insight and provide resources to teams across the company on a daily basis.

What part of your role are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about getting to work with a variety of teams across Berkadia. I love connecting with people of varying expertise and having an opportunity to learn so much through fellow Berkadians.

What excites you most about commercial real estate?

What excites me most about commercial real estate is getting to see how cities and communities grow and change over time. We see exciting developments in every corner of the U.S. and have the chance to engage communities and help facilitate critical infrastructure. There are many opportunities to make a positive impact through CRE.

What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself coming into the commercial real estate industry? What is the best piece of advice you have received?

Be open to learning new things every day! There is a wealth of knowledge and expertise at Berkadia and Berkadians are the most supportive group of individuals I have ever worked with. I enjoy taking the time to meet with and learn from folks in a variety of roles. The best piece of advice I received when starting with Berkadia was along the same lines, and it has served me well.

When you’re not helping Berkadia move the industry forward, how do you spend your time?

I am currently pursuing my master’s from Gonzaga University. When I am not studying, I love to spend time with my family, friends, and my dog, Oliver. You can usually find me cooking, reading, singing, or trying to learn a new skill!

How has your time at Berkadia helped to accelerate your personal and professional development?

As I mentioned, I am currently working on my Master’s in Communication & Leadership. Berkadia has given me the opportunity to engage in our Tuition Reimbursement Program, which is helping to support me in this pursuit. This program is just one of the many great opportunities offered by Berkadia for personal and professional development.
