Steve Michels serves as a Senior Managing Director for Berkadia’s Hotels & Hospitality platform in New York, NY, where he helps lead a nationally coordinated approach to the advisory business, across both the investment sales and mortgage banking platforms, including debt placement, note sales, UCC auctions, and equity recapitalizations.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Michels was at Cushman & Wakefield, where he served as a co-head of the national hospitality capital markets practice group and held responsibilities that include advisory of investment sales, joint venture equity, and debt placement. Other prior experience includes acquisition and operational roles at citizenM Asset Management, The Marcus & Millichap Company, and Wynn Las Vegas.
Michels received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management with a concentration in Real Estate Finance. He currently sits on the board of the Blue Eden Foundation.
