A team that supports all key business functions within the Commercial Real Estate finance sector for Berkadia. A relentless focus and investment in developing people, innovative technology, culture and skills has helped the platform evolve into an integrated and cohesive business unit. ​


Servicing Operations

The Servicing Operations Team​ in India enjoys low employee attrition due to the culture, environment and the work performed here. The average tenure across the team is close to 6 years while the leadership has an average tenure of 13 years and an average 16 years’ experience in the financial services industry. The entire servicing platform takes pride in deep domain expertise, the love for their job and are extremely focused towards its customers.

Berkadia is the largest non-bank servicer in the CRE industry. As a highly rated servicer, Berkadia highlights the India operations as a critical contributor to their continued success and reputation. The activities performed in India fully complement Berkadia’s middle-market positioning in the US commercial real estate space.

Global Production Operations

The Global Production Operations​ (GPO) team is located in the Hyderabad, India office and supports mortgage bankers, investment sales advisors, and underwriters in Berkadia’s US network of offices. The team performs analyses required for commercial real estate debt and sale transactions. Core capabilities of the team include analyzing property operating statements and tenant listing reports, reviewing leases, creating deal summaries, and creating & designing deal pitch books and loan packages with our in-house design team. The GPO team has expertise with multiple property types, including multifamily, seniors housing, hospitality/hotel, affordable housing, office and retail, self-storage, and mixed-use.

Berkadia’s Innovation Technology department in Hyderabad provides Technology solutions by developing products & applications for the Mortgage Banking and the Commercial Real Estate Industry. The team is involved in analyzing, planning, developing and implementing different business workflows across Berkadia. The activities include requirement gathering, stakeholder collaboration, product development, and product delivery using Agile methodology. The Enterprise IT team operates and supports Berkadia’s IT infrastructure and applications enabling business users to carry out their roles.

Finance, Admin and Facilities Management

“We Believe People Matter” and in the power of teamwork. We have a dynamic talented team at Berkadia. ​ The India Finance & Accounting function ensures that all the transactions are in line to the company policies and accounted accurately in the books of accounts. This department is responsible for end-to-end accounting, preparing various financial statements viz. profit & loss account, balance sheet and adhering to Statutory Compliances in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013. The team also supports U.S Corporate accounting team on number of other accounting activities daily.

The Accounts Payable and Invoice Submissions teams support on the end-to-end processing of U.S vendor invoice payments. The team also handles Vendor Maintenance, Good faith activity, pay cycle and sales tax reporting as part of their roles and responsibilities.

The Risk, Compliance and controls team handles various internal and external audits. The team works closely with the U.S Risk Management team and ensures that the audits are completed per the agreed timelines. The team supports on number of servicing, IT and other audits.

With the objective to create a safe and secure environment and to provide a great facility experience for Berkadia employees, the Administration Department is responsible for vendor management, staff transportation, housekeeping, infrastructure management, procurement and so on. The team always strives for better customer experience in every aspect while ensuring compliances are per the required standards is being maintained all the times.
