Last week, 70 Berkadians, clients, and partners touched down in Washington, D.C. for our second annual Berkadia ONE Forum. The forum promotes the interests of minority-led operators, owners, and developers in commercial real estate (CRE).

Guests participated in discussions about Access to Capital, Equity in Multifamily Housing, and Raising Capital Through Challenging Market Cycles. The forum concluded with an award ceremony, where Randy Jenson, President of Berkadia, recognized Ken Lombard, President & CEO, BRIDGE Housing, with the inaugural Berkadia Impact Award.

The Berkadia Impact Award was created to recognize individuals who demonstrate exemplary leadership in CRE. Nominees were judged on the following criteria: impact, leadership, collaboration, results-driven mindset, and innovation. Ken has dedicated himself to improving the quality of life for all members of our community, with a particular focus on advancing opportunities for Black people and people of color in the CRE industry. His tireless efforts have addressed community needs and created positive social and sustainable change. Through his work, he has improved the lives of individuals and contributed to the advancement of our society.

As a leader in the CRE industry, Ken has set trends, influenced best practices, and inspired others to follow in his footsteps. His visionary approach and unwavering commitment have made him a role model for others. Ken’s ability to lead by example has not only elevated his own career but has also uplifted those around him, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, which is what the Berkadia ONE Forum is all about.

One of Ken’s greatest strengths lies in his collaborative nature. Through his collaborative efforts, Ken has shown us the power of unity and the importance of working towards a common goal.
