Project Destined is an organization dedicated to providing underrepresented students with training and mentorship in the commercial real estate industry. Since 2021, team members from Berkadia have mentored students through a ten-week program to gain real world experience and insights into the industry. We have sponsored teams in Philadelphia, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Houston, and Miami.
Through our partnership, we have sponsored 50+ Project Destined students across the United States building strong awareness among their 10,000+ alumni worldwide. Utilizing the Project Destined Community Platform and targeted email campaigns, we have generated over 230 applications from students representing more than 150 schools. Additionally, we partnered to fund the Berkadia Scholarship Award which grants recipients a scholarship to support their academic endeavors while connecting them with two Berkadia employees for mentorship. During these meetings, our team shares their professional journey, offers career advice, and provides insight into their field of work.
Last fall, Berkadia Miami hosted a group of Project Destined students and visited two property sites, engaging with project managers on both the development and commercial real estate fronts to gain insights into the day-to-day work.

This partnership not only aligns with our DEIB initiatives but also reinforces our dedication to cultivating a workforce that is as diverse as the communities we serve.
